Full Moon Ritual

Look up, or visualize above you, the round glowing disc of the Full Moon, bathing you in a protective circle of light.  Stand and raise your arms above your head. Let your palms face each other and curve slightly toward the moon. Feel that you are a sacred chalice, drawing the power of the Great Mother into every cell of your being—from your head to your toes. Feel the pleasure of this energy. It is vibrant with the power to give, to receive, to nurture life, and to manifest what is possible.

Draw your hands to your heart. Massage this area. Feel yourself filled with the power of the goddess, able to balance the earth and harmonize its opposing energies. At this Full Moon you are tuned to the energies of Taurus  (the current Full Moon Sign) and Scorpio (the current Sun Sign). Taurus is earthy, sensual, drawing in what it needs to feel comfortable and secure. It is slow-moving, yet lush and abundant, like the earth. Scorpio is mysterious, hidden, and attractive in a potent, magnetic way. It holds its power deeply inward, like a jewel in an underground cavern. Both are "fixed" signs, strong, persevering, and capable of great commitment and depth of character. Both are deeply rooted in sexual experience. Pleasure-loving Taurus loves to touch and be touched, to be stimulated by scents and tastes. Scorpio is intensely passionate and capable of a thrilling intimacy once it trusts. These are the primary money signs, able to manage the vast resources of wealth in the world.

Taurus can be stubborn and indolent, dictatorial, or resistant to change. Scorpio can be overcome with emotional turmoil, vengeful, jealous, and secretive-or power-mad and controlling. Now see the world bathed in the purifying light of your offering: the sleeping babies, the politicians arguing, the starving children, liars and thieves. See the world transforming with this light, growing peaceful and calm. When you are ready, bring your hands to your sides, palms facing the earth. Send your divine light deep into the earth. See this energy take shape as a round moon, gathering below you in the center of the earth. Feel yourself slowly coming back into your body. Rest in this peace until you are ready to return to your life. Blessed be.

Aries:  You can use public attention to advance your goals in November. After November 15, the energy shifts to spending on adventures and mind-expanding encounters.


Taurus: A new start with a partner or friend is likely as October ends. Creative group activities also hit the spot, especially in November, when the planets line up more harmoniously for you. Mid November’s Taurus Full Moon will keep you hopping!


Gemini:  Your originality or rebelliousness in career/worldly matters may ruffle feathers at work, especially in early November. Things go well for you in business, in spite of the economic climate. Attention to your inner life is needed mid November; watch for a powerful dream or an encounter with a teacher.


Cancer: Make preparations now for the changes that you feel are likely in 2009. Opportunity may come through a friend or partner. Your creativity and personal magnetism are high, so you may attract public attention. As November begins, make sure that your finances (for loan terms) are in order. Situations with neighbors or relatives need your attention and compassion. The latter half of November brings more “stuff” to the surface at work or in groups. Rewarding, intimate connections occur after the 26th.


Leo:  Putting energy into a home improvement project feels right through mid November. Your creative/emotional intensity increases in late October. Business conditions continue to be changeable in November, with a “career moment” in mid November. You may also experience more clarity in your psychological or spiritual life.


Virgo: If partners or friends seem changeable or flaky in November look at your own shadow material first before you pass sentence. Fun and expansion (throughout 2008) may involve risk-taking, sports, or young people in some way. There is a lot of activity in your home as November ends.


Libra: Home and family are a source of joy or expansion, but the urge to spend will increase through November 15. You may want to stock up on vital goods. As November begins, you could feel quiet and reclusive, but by the end of the month, you’ll feel more restless and social.
